Our committee has met and had its post-Olympics meeting. By all reports, it was agreed that our first Seniors’ Olympics was a success. We want to thank all 75 people who registered and participated in it, those who contributed prizes for it, the ladies of the legion who served up a most delicious lunch and to all who helped in any way.
We definitely are going to offer it again next year, and due to the access of facilities that were so accommodating, we are going to keep the 2011 Olympics in Harrison (why fool around with a winning combination?) It shall be held on the same date, the second Thursday in June — June 9, 2011. Mark that date on your calendar or log book now. There will some minor changes to the day, which will only make it a better day for all.
We have finalized our next two bus trips and tickets will be available on June 15. Our first trip is Friday, Oct. 15 to the Bala Cranberry Festival. The second is to see Walters family in Brantford on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Details on these trips and ticket information will be in the Minto Express on July 14, so watch for that issue.
Our bus trips are always an early sellout and a lot of fun, so reserve these dates if you’re interested in going.
Again, thanks to all who came out to help make our Seniors’ Olympics day a successful, fun day. We look forward to seeing you on our bus trips.
