Four old Palmerston Lions hockey players (1956-57) returned to play in the Norwell Redmen Golf Tournament in conjunction with the Norwell high school reunion held recently.
Laverne Long and Jim Gebhardt played defence for the Lions as a unit, while Bob Finlayson centred a line with Wally Klym on left wing and Leroy Parker played right wing. The Lions were Ontario OHA finalists with the Walkerton Capitals in 1956-57 and then dropped back into the Western Ontario Hockey League. They won the grand championship against the Lucan Irishmen in a seven-game series.
