HOLMESVILLE – Promar Karate of Listowel attended the Lake Huron Karate Championships held in Holmesville Nov. 20.
Shihan Mark Yates of Clifford was second in men’s black belt weapons.
Richard Parker from Moorefield was second in black belt sparring and third in weapons.
Palmerston’s Sam Ireland snagged fourth in kid’s intermediate kata. Dean Ireland was fourth in men’s coloured belt kata.
On Nov. 26, Promar took a smaller team to the Hershey Centre in Mississauga for the 2011 Tournament of Toronto Martial Arts Championships. This was a large, world-class event with competitors from Europe and North America.
Yates brought home second in both men’s black belt weapons and men’s black belt kata.
