There’s a new face in town for the summer, and he’ll be helping to support local initiatives.
The Minto Chamber of Commerce has hired Mark Brownrigg for the 2010 summer program co-ordinator position.
“It’s right in my field, directly related to what I want to do,” said Brownrigg, a Mount Forest native, who added, “I do like the small towns.”
Brownrigg is currently in his third year of the Honours Recreation and Business program at University of Waterloo.
He will be helping the board of directors organize and set up a fundraising program, finalize the Summer Shopping Spree, recruit new members to the chamber and help with various other programs over his seven weeks with the Chamber of Commerce.
He said one of his goals this summer is to “get to know a lot of people in the area,” be there to answer questions and help in whatever way he can.
Brownrigg will be coming to businesses starting this week to discuss programs, update business listings and to help connect members to the services provided by the Chamber of Commerce.
