The sun shone brightly on the 36th annual Clifford Rotaryfest this past weekend.
The annual classic and antique car, truck, tractor and heavy truck show had “record crowds,” said Rotary president and chairman of the car show, John Caesar.
“It was a really good show,” he said. “Everything went over really well.”
Aside from the vehicle shows, the event also offered a fish fry, tractor pull, bluegrass festival, church service, jamboree, craft displays, flea market, helicopter rides, food booth, beer gardens, kids’ events and camping.
One of the special features, said Caesar, was the Farmall square dance. Another was Steve Plunkett and his million-dollar Cadillac.
Helping out this year were a number of Rotary members and volunteers, including Jim Harkness, who managed the event and chaired the Farmall square dance and tractor pull; Randy Ruetz, craft show and vendor chairperson; Larry Grummett, music chairperson, Corey Hobelman, food chairperson; Verdun Zurbrigg, chair of the truck show.
All club members are thanked for their effort, as is the public for attending and supporting the event, said Caesar.
Proceeds from Rotaryfest are dedicated to local improvements, done by the Clifford Rotary Club.
“It all goes back into the community,” said Caesar.
Next year’s event is planned for July 1 to 3, 2011.
