Concert in Minto
The town is in discussions with an organization called The Concert Factory that has requested permission to hold music concerts on municipally owned property June 19, 2010.
In 2008, Minto staff investigated the possibility of renting a portion of the Harriston arena property to The Concert Factory. Last year, TCF ran a successful event called Saugeen Summer Nights at a site that has over 150 seasonal renters in a trailer park (not in Minto). Apparently TGF wants to move the concerts to Clifford and Harriston.

Christmas parades
Mayor David Anderson closed out the year for Minto council by thanking everyone who participated in the three Santa Claus parades.
He commented that the Redneck Games float, with its humorous theme, was fun, and he personally enjoyed the opportunity to walk in the parades and speak with the crowds lining the streets. He noted all three parades had large turnouts.

TG Minto helps local food bank
TG Minto employees raised a whopping $1,270 for the food bank. There was a contest between various departments within the plant. The company agreed to match funds, up to $1,000. That makes the total donation to the food bank $2,270. The money was dropped off at the food bank, along with food items and gift donations.
