DRAYTON — Evan Conway made a hasty entrance into this world.
He was the first baby of the new year, arriving at Palmerston and District Hospital on Jan. 4, 2012 at 2:55 a.m. to parents Maggie and Bill of Drayton. He weighed eight pounds, three ounces.
It was a quick delivery, said Maggie. “Three hours from start to finish.”
Maggie said she went into labour at home. “I figured out very quickly that I needed to get to the hospital,” she said.
She went via ambulance and Nathan arrived just a few hours later.
He is the third child for the couple, and little brother to Olivia, 4, and Cody, 2. Both Olivia and Cody agreed their new baby brother is “fine” and they will keep him. Bill insisted Evan is better than fine — he is, in fact, “awesome.”
Both Bill and Maggie said they had no idea Evan would end up being PDH’s new year’s baby of 2012.
“It was a very nice surprise,” said Maggie.
