PALMERSTON — Palmerston residents may have noticed a new landmark near the railway tracks in the community.
KW Power Logic, a Brussels company, erected the first of several solar installations to be built in a Town of Minto initiative.
Bill King, president of KW Power Logic, said he expects the panel to be completed and operational within the next couple of weeks.
The process “was excellent,” said King. “We’re very happy with it.”
King explained the next installation will go up sometime in the spring, depending on weather, timing and access to the properties as granted by the Town of Minto.
“We’re just really looking forward to working with the municipality,” said King.
Town of Minto council long discussed the possibility of installing solar panels in various locations throughout Minto, comparing companies, cost, gain, advantages and disadvantages. Under the Feed In Tariff (FIT) program, leases were considered for solar installations at spots such as the Harriston-Minto Community Complex, the Clifford Community Centre, the Clifford Waste Water Treatment Plant, the Palmerston Industrial Park, the Palmerston and District Community Centre and the Town of Minto works building.
King couldn’t specify which Minto locations would be getting a solar installation, but did say eight sites had been selected. ...please read more in this weeks Minto Express
